The Insight Group is a group of five companies based in Scarborough looking after clients and their investments across the UK.

The company is the market leading and largest property portfolio building company in the UK and is also amongst the top three companies in property education, in addition to being a leading property sourcing company.

With thirty members of the team, we manage over £10,000,000 of client’s invested money.

The five businesses in brief:

Property Insight source great value buy-to-let property investments, negotiate on them, arrange the finance, sort the solicitors, purchase the properties, refurbish them and then tenant them and continue to manage the tenancies. Investors from across the UK and abroad use Property Insight to build their property portfolios in a hands free manner.

Property Sourcing Model is a subscription service that enables clients to get access to our database of over £60,000,000 worth of property every month that has a 15%+ genuine discount from market value, leveraging the last ten years of contacts and properties.

Aran Curry educates other people in property through regular online webinars, which can see up to 400 people registering and listening to each session. These webinars are the highest attended property webinars in the country. These webinars are provided for free to engage potential clients for our services

We aim to purchase over 200 properties per year, buying great individual properties and also portfolios. We refurbish over 100 properties and collect over £1.5 million of rent in this time period.

Rental Insight is our letting agent based in Scarborough but operating for properties from Northampton up to Newcastle, and East Coast to West Coast.

Mortgage Insight serves over 800 clients and ensures their mortgages are always on the best possible deals and in the best possible place. We are a market leading buy to let expert and also specialize in residential mortgages. We have over 22,000 clients interested in buy to let property in our database to speak to and source mortgages for.

Maintenance Insight review the properties we have bought for clients and ensure we refurbish them to the correct standard at the best value to rent long term.

Mortgage Insight

Mortgage Insight is the longest established of our businesses, with over 1100 mortgages under direct management and the opportunity to grow significantly in the buy to let sector. Mortgage Insight serves over 800 clients and ensures their mortgages are always on the best possible deals and in the best possible place.

The business, pre-credit crunch, had over fifteen members of team in the Scarborough office and is now looking to grow again and develop this arm of the business. We have the opportunity to win more business and need a client focused individual to drive this forward.

The Offer

Mortgage Insight are a whole of market mortgage broker. We source the clients the best deal from the market.

We charge £395 for each mortgage that we complete for clients. We also have a large number of clients who signed up for a 25 year service with us in the past and receive free remortgages as part of that package.

We do residential and buy-to-let finance. Sitting alongside our other businesses in the group we have massive opportunity for growth in the buy-to-let sector.

The Job Role

We are looking to move this business back into growth mode. We have spent the last five years consolidating and looking after current clients since the credit crunch but it is now time to grow this business and win new clients again.

The role will involve engaging potential and current clients in our offers and developing that through into mortgage business.

Administration support is provided (very much like a para-planner in financial services) meaning that you will liaise with the clients and win the business, while the administrative support will source the best products and chase through all the paperwork.

Business will come from three primary routes:

-          The current client database

-          Clients of other businesses in the group who use Mortgage Insights services

-          Client opportunities produced from other new ventures that we are undertaking

The marketing of the business will be undertaken by our Marketing and Sales Team. This role is predominantly about getting the best returns from the leads available, by engaging the clients and delivering an outstanding client service with the support of a great administrator.

Key parts of the job are:

-          Developing relationships with new clients to understand their needs and help them obtain the best mortgage products

-          To find sales opportunities in the current client database and also in the databases of the other businesses

-          To get alongside clients so they become raving fans of you personally and also of the service that you deliver as a team

-          To deliver outstanding client service

-          Developing opportunities for cross sales into our other businesses along with the marketing team

-          Systemising the business so we are ready for the large growth that will come when the interest rates starts to rise

-          Take responsibility for the compliance activities in the business

-          To lead the other two team members and drive the whole business forward


You need to be CeMap qualified to be able to take this role.

Management experience is required

Training that will be provided

The Insight Group work very hard to train their team. We expect full commitment and participation. The right candidate will be doing all they can to train themselves and make sure that they are learning as quickly and effectively as they can.

We have a comprehensive training plan that covers the entirety of the job role and it will enable the right candidate to be performing successfully in the role very quickly. The first month of employment will involve intensive training and we expect the right applicant to be committed to continuing this long term.

Targets and expected results

A successful Mortgage Insight Manager will have superb relationships with all of our clients and also with the internal team at The Insight Group.

They will be committed to the vision of the company and taking the business forward.

This right individual will grow to complete a minimum of ten mortgages per month plus at least two insurance policies. Whilst also managing the other two team mambers and driving the business as whole forward.


-          Basic Salary of £24000 per annum

-          Commission of £50 for every case completed over an average of five per month, that you have submitted – OTE £3000-£6000 of commission.

-          Health Cover, Gym membership, Sports and social events, 0% loans part of the package

-          Career progression opportunities as the company has five successful businesses growing all the time

-          Working Hours are 9am until 6pm, Monday to Friday (these may be variable to meet client needs and some evening work may be needed).

-          All full time staff are entitled to 20 days holiday each calendar year plus bank holidays, these total 28 days off per year.

-          All contracted staff at The Insight Group will be eligible for healthcare cover under the company scheme with Healthshield. This will also cover partners and any dependent children up to the age of 18 that live at the same address as the staff member.
